Get in your daily fruit while dipping into creamy, nut-buttery goodness! Cut pears, and apples into dipping pieces and bananas into coins. Fill three small bowls for the center of your plate with peanut butter, almond butter, and cashew butter. Transform the old and boring fruit and cheese platter into a new and fresh heart healthy party tray!

Toss out your old cheese ball! Mix together real cream cheese with dried cranberries, cinnamon, chopped walnuts, nutmeg, a pinch of sea salt, and a spoonful of honey or agave nectar. Place in a bowl around whole wheat crackers and you now have a delicious, non-processed, low sugar addition to your holiday party table.

Veggie time! Fill a platter with as many dipp-ible veggies as possible, red and green ones if you’re feeling festive, and place a bowl of hummus in the center. It’s a great low calorie option, balanced with protein. Plain hummus will do great but if you feel creative, swirl in sautéed spinach for a touch of color and added nutrition!

Chocolate covered fruit can be expensive and too sugary but not if you do it yourself! Buy dried fruit and fresh strawberries and place them on wax paper. Melt dark chocolate and simply drizzle it over the fruits. You’ll get a serving of fruit, less sugar, antioxidants, and a beautiful platter for entertaining!
